Rap Artist Nas Testifies to the Beauty of the Islamic Civilization built by the Black Man

In Nas classic track I Can he tells the glory of the University of Sankore in Timbuktu.  Prior to European colonialism and slavery, the Black man and Black woman built numerous Islamic civilizations throughout West Africa. These civilizations were rich in intellectual  and scientific achievements. In the Islamic civilization of Mali, Black Muslims established Timbuktu.

Timbuktu was an internationally renowned center for Islamic learning and culture.  Ibn Battuta, an Arab explorer who visited Timbuktu  indicated that the book trade was the most flourishing bushiness there.

The school to prison pipeline is currently facing many inner-city Black communities under a system of white supremacy. Black Muslims must seek to revive Islamic civilization in our Black communities.
