Across North Omaha, Black families live surrounded by fast food but miles from a real grocery store. That did not happen by accident, and it is no natural "food desert." It is food apartheid: the product of redlining, disinvestment, and policy choices that starved Black neighborhoods of fresh, affordable food while other parts of the city were fed.
This is an injustice aimed squarely at our community. Good food should never depend on the color of your neighborhood.

We believe in doing for self. Feeding your neighbor is not charity. It is an obligation and a matter of justice. We are not waiting on anyone to come save our community. We are a people who take care of our own, building Black self-determination block by block.
